Every figure on this page is computed from the policy figures you enter, by the method stated below it. RollCallWorks publishes no norm for points, thresholds or windows and asserts no legal rule: the defaults are a worked example to replace with your own policy.
An attendance policy template is searched for by a small employer who needs the policy on paper before the next shift and does not want to write it from a blank page. The templates on offer are prose about punctuality with the numbers left blank, which is why the write-up that cites them does not stand. The template on this site is the policy stated as its five numbers: points per unexcused absence, per tardy and per no-call no-show, the threshold that ends employment and the rolling window the points live in, with the notice rule, the grace and the cut-off that define each event, the exceptions the law requires held at zero, and a version date. It prints from your own figures, free, with no account.

State the five numbers, and the template shows what each implies
Enter the points an unexcused absence, a tardy and a no-call score, the threshold and the window. The template prints them in a table with the count of each event that reaches the threshold alone, so the line is visible to the employee before anyone is near it and the employer can see whether the implied counts are the ones they meant.
Define the events: the notice rule, the grace and the cut-off
A no-call is a missed shift with no notice inside the window the policy names, on the line it names; a tardy is an arrival past the grace in minutes; an absence is an arrival past the cut-off. The template takes each as a number and prints it once, so every lead scores the same event the same way.
Name the exceptions, date the version, print and sign
The template states that leave the law protects is recorded at zero points with its reason and never counts, prints the generation date as the version, and adds an acknowledgement line. The free points calculator and tracker on this site score against the policy as printed; RollCallWorks Pro keeps the events and write-ups under it.
Attendance policy template: common questions
What does the attendance policy template include?
The five numbers (points per absence, tardy and no-call, the threshold, the window) with the count of each event that reaches the threshold, the notice rule, the grace and the cut-off, the exceptions held at zero, a version date and an acknowledgement line. One or two pages an employee can read at the start of a shift.
Is the attendance policy template free?
Yes. It prints from your own figures with no account and no trial. RollCallWorks Pro is the record kept under the policy: employees, shifts, points in the window and write-ups that cite it, at a flat price for the crew.
Can I use the template for a no-fault or occurrence policy?
Yes. A no-fault policy is the same five numbers with only the legal exceptions excused; an occurrence policy is all three weights at 1 with a count as the threshold. Enter the numbers that way and the template prints that policy.
